Custom Domains

With a Sounder Plus subscription, you can change the URL of your Podcast Webpage (usually yourPodcast.sounder.fm) to any domain you host yourself.   The custom domain address has to be a sub-domain, though, as we are unable set the URL to the apex domain name.

Before we can set up a custom domain, you'll need:

  1. A subscription to Sounder Plus (You can upgrade to a Plus subscription here: https://app.sounder.fm/plus)
  2. A domain if you don't have one
  3. A sub-domain, e.g. podcast.yourdomain.com

Next, follow these steps:

  1. Check that your CAA record settings are enabled "All CAAs", OR add a CAA record with one of the following domain names: amazon.com, amazontrust.com, awstrust.com, amazonaws.com (check with your DNS registrar if you're not sure)
  2. Then, send our Support team an email with the sub-domain you'd like to use
  3. We'll send you the following to add to your DNS:
    1. A CNAME record
    2. A second CNAME record (which is used for DNS validation so that we can create the SSL cert)
  4. Once you've done that, we'll take care of the rest and let you know when it's done
