Embed Player HTML on GoDaddy Mobile (September 29, 2021)

  • Issue:
    When you click Share on the player on a mobile device, the player collapses and you can't share the episode.
The problem is that the html widget from the GoDaddy builder that holds the player does not have its own height and it is also an iframe element.
When the sounder player switches to full screen, it actually inherits the height and width of its root html document, which in this case is a widget and not an entire page. Player embedded in this way is disabled from entering full screen mode.
  • Workaround:
    GoDaddy's support site notes:  "for embedded content that changes height as the user interacts with it, we recommend forcing the height to a value that can accommodate these changes". It may affect the layout, but you can set the height of the section with the player to 600 pixels so that the player can expand in it. The downside is that it will not be fixed on the page, but will scroll with the content.
